Fourth of July

The 4th of July is a special time in the small Mountain communities of the San Juan Mountains where friends and families come to celebrate the birth of our great nation. Activities include a special parade down Main Street, followed by an old fashioned picnic in the park with sack races, pie eating contest and mush more.

Ice Festival

For over 10 years Ouray has had the world renowned Ouray Ice park, arguably the best ice climbing park in North America. Every January the best ice climbers come from around the globe to climb the ice at the Ouray Ice Festival. Watch as people climb shear blue ice canyons in the clear sunshine of the Ouray Box Canyon.

October Fest

Every Autumn as the leaves start to fall and the days and nights get cool Ouray has a celebration of the season. October Fest in Ouray has warm food and cold beer to help everyone get ready for the Fall season ahead.

Yule Night

To help Ouray get ready for the holidays each year Yule Night has become one of the events people look forward. This town wide celebration features a parade under the twinkling holiday lights while the shops have special deals to get everyone in the shopping spirit.

Ouray Farmers Market

Ouray is located close to some of the most fertile farmland in the southwest, and what better way to get all of the fresh fruit, vegetables, and handmade wares that the Western Slope of Colorado has to offer then going to Ouray’s own Farmers Market. Peaches from Palisade, sweet corn from Olathe, apples from Cedar Edge, the Ouray Farmers market has it all.

Taste of Ouray

Get ready for this delicious event. Local chefs come together to participate in the Taste of Ouray and offer delectable treats for everyone.

Art Galleries

For many years the Mountains have inspired artists to come and create in this very special place. As a result many have stayed and now sell their inspired works at the art galleries that line Main Street. These galleries offer a chance to get some one of a kind art as a souvenir of your mountain adventure.

Imogene and other Races

Being athletic is a Colorado way of life and to celebrate it Ouray is involved in several challenging races throughout the year. The Imogene race goes from Ouray over to Telluride in what is one of the most beautiful and challenging races in the US today.

New Years

Someone once said that Ouray is a town of 800 that parties like NYC. While that might not quite be true Ouray does offer one of its famous firework displays at midnight, don’t miss the chance to see the display during one of our snow storms.
